Mission - Bulgaria

Mission

Bulgarica Cultural Center is a non-profit organization, founded in 2014 in Illinois, USA, under the name “Bulgarian Traditions” (dba Bulgarica).

Our mission is to preserve and promote Bulgarian culture, traditions, and heritage. Through a variety of programs, initiatives, and events, we aim to raise awareness and support for issues that affect the Bulgarian community and organizations in the Chicago area.

Values

At Bulgarica Cultural Center, we deeply value Bulgarian traditions, culture, heritage, and language. Our core principles guide our work and our ongoing effort to preserve Bulgarian traditions, even far from home.

Respect for Bulgarian Heritage

We strive to preserve Bulgaria’s rich cultural heritage so that future generations can continue to appreciate and learn from it. To this end, we organize cultural events and seminars for both children and adults.

Community Engagement

We believe in creating a cohesive community among Bulgarian people and organizations, both locally and internationally.

Education and awareness

We organize seminars and events focused on Bulgarian history, culture, and traditions, and work to raise awareness of cultural issues that affect the Bulgarian community.

Cooperation and partnership

We actively seek partnerships with organizations, institutions, and individuals who share our passion for promoting and preserving Bulgarian heritage.

Activity

Since its establishment in 2014, Bulgarica Cultural Center has worked tirelessly to fulfill its mission. We have organized numerous cultural events, workshops, and seminars dedicated to Bulgarian art, music, dance, and history.

Our events bring together people of all ages and backgrounds, fostering cultural exchange and mutual respect. In addition to cultural programming, we actively support initiatives that benefit the Bulgarian community.

Bazaars

Bulgarica Cultural Center organizes two to three times a year one of the most anticipated events in the Bulgarian community of the Chicago area - the Bulgarica Bazaars.
