Preserving traditions through dance

Bulgarica Dance Group was founded in 2018 by a group of friends with one common ideal - to keep the Bulgarian spirit alive. Together we dance and build on our skills, showing the audience the richness of Bulgarian folklore. During rehearsals we study specific dances and combinations from different folk regions of Bulgaria.

Over the years, Bulgarica Dance Group together with the children's groups have become the face of Bulgarica Center. The formation is extremely talented and dedicated to what they do. They continue to develop their skills and improve their performances, constantly looking for new ways to present Bulgaria's rich cultural heritage on the world stage.

Stage presence and inspiration for the audience

Bulgarica Dance Group actively participates in concerts and festivals in Chicago and surrounding cities, where it happily presents Bulgaria and its rich folklore. With exceptional grace and energy, they capture the attention of the audience and captivate them with their choreography, costumes and authentic performance. Bulgarica's performance is always worthy of praise and leaves an unquenchable flame for all who watch them.

The artistic director of Bulgarica Dance Group is the choreographer Petur Iliev. He is a graduate of the Bulgarian National School of Music and Dance Art and holds a BA degree from the National Institute of Choreography in Bulgaria.

Bulgarica Dance Group presents in a dignified way the Bulgarian culture and traditions. The dance group shows the beauty of Bulgarian heritage, carries it through generations and presents it to the world. The commitment of all participants and their dedication makes them representatives of Bulgaria, who influence the audience in a positive way and create a sense of pride and pleasure with every performance.
