Dear friends,
The Salon for Bulgarian Culture and Spirituality, the League of Bulgarian Writers in the United States and Worldwide and the Bulgarian Artists Abroad Association are pleased to invite you to an official celebration of May 24 - the holiday of the Bulgarian alphabet, education and culture.
Our program includes reflections on the significance of May 24th, presentation of Nasko Gelev's short story collection "THINGS FROM LIFE" and a literary reading. We invite you to celebrate together one of our holiest holidays, the achievements of Bulgarian culture and the memory of the holy brothers Cyril and Methodius.
Welcome to:
Sunday, May 21, 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Where: the Bulgarica Centre
Address: 1120 S. Elmhurst Rd, Mount Prospect, Illinois 60056.
"Nasko Gelev's collection of short stories "Things from Life" is pre-lived by its creator, emotionally coloured and rich in its thematic essence. Small in volume, it gives us many occasions for reflection on what is valuable and unimportant in the lives of each of us; on the meaning of our existence and on what we define as significant, unimportant or even transitory. Do we bow at the altar of humanity, or do we silently distance ourselves from it... This book honours its creator by the very act of writing it. And we expect many more titles from Nasko Gelev, still as interesting and readable... "
