Kalina Andreeva and the „Fida-Nusha” trio will be special guests at the „Bulgarica“ Center, performing a concert for the Bulgarian audience in Chicago. The program will feature music from Kalina Andreeva’s album „Posoka” and performances by the family trio of Neli, Yoana, and Kalina Andreeva. The evening is a charity event in support of the „Bulgarica“ Children’s Dance School.

In support of the „Bulgarica“ Children's Dance School“

The event is a charity one and come from it are donated to Children's Dance School „Bulgarica“ – the school where children from the Bulgarian community in Chicago learn folk dances and maintain their connection to Bulgarian culture.

The Fida-Nusha Trio is a family formation—a mother and her two daughters. Their trip to Chicago is not a commercial tour: they are coming at the invitation of the community to present their new music live and support the school. The event is organized for charitable rather than commercial purposes.

Kalina Andreeva and the album „Posoka“

Kalina Andreeva she is a double bass player, singer, composer, arranger, and orchestrator. In her music, she combines Bulgarian folklore, jazz, classical music, funk, and pop. She graduated in classical double bass, and today she is a full-time doctoral student in Prof. Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music„.

She has performed with world-renowned artists such as Jacob Collier, Joss Stone, Shai Maestro, Zvezdan Ružić, Omar Massa, and Richard Bona. She has been a soloist with the Sofia Philharmonic, the Pazardzhik Symphony Orchestra, and the Classic FM Orchestra. In 2026, she will record her own music with the BNR Big Band.

In 2023 Kalina releases her debut author's album „Direction“. It tells about the young man's quest to find his place in life, and the songs touch upon the themes of forgiveness, change, hope, and faith.

In 2026, she presents the music from the album in two concerts with a symphony orchestra, a folklore trio, and the „Posoka“ band – at Bulgaria Hall and with the orchestra of the State Opera - Varna. The arrangements for the symphony orchestra and ethno-jazz band are hers.

About Trio „Fida-Nusha“

Fida-Nusha Trio„ performs traditional and modern Bulgarian folklore. The Rhodope singer and conductor Neli Andreeva created the formation in 2007. It includes Neli Andreeva and her two daughters Yoana and Kalina Andreeva.

Neli Andreeva is a folk singer and author of the song „Malka Moma“. She teaches at the Prof. Pancho Vladigerov National Music Academy and works with world-renowned artists such as Joss Stone, Shai Maestro, and Zvezdan Ružić.

Yoana Andreeva is a folk singer and violist. She graduated in Bulgarian folk singing at the National Academy of Music „Prof. Pancho Vladigerov“ in the class of Neli Andreeva.

Kalina Andreeva is a double bassist and composer. She holds a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in classical double bass from the Prof. Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music and is continuing her education as a full-time PhD student.

Music projects and appearances

The trio is part of Nusha Choir„ with conductor Neli Andreeva and participates in the albums „Kriva koza“, „Da znaesh, maycho“ and „Kitka velika, chestitata“. The audience also knows him from the tours of Neshka Robeva in 2019 and Nevena Tsoneva in 2026.

In 2025, the trio Fida-Nusha participates in the song „Cheren granit“ by Vladimir Ampov – Grafa, and in 2026 they join the concert „The Silk Road“ by Serbian singer Slobodan Trkulja in Niš.

The trio also participates in Kalina Andreeva's ethno-fusion project.
