The Consulate General of Bulgaria in Chicago and the Elk Grove Village City Hall for another year organize the Parade of Bulgaria on the occasion of May 24th - the Day of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius, of the Bulgarian alphabet, education and culture and of Slavic literature.
All Bulgarian Sunday schools, cultural centers, dance clubs and groups, and all Bulgarian patriotic organizations in the United States are invited to participate in the parade. After the Parade, a Bulgarian Community Gathering will be held, organized by the non-governmental organization Bulgarian Arts and Cultural Exchange. On the big stage we will traditionally see a rich program of dance performances and with leading favorite performers and artists from Bulgaria and the U.S.
The Parade will be held on 18 May, Sunday, from 12:00 pm (leaving from 500 W Elk Grove Boulevard, Entrance 29 South side, of Elk Grove High School).
The festive programme on the big stage will start at 1 RM by Rotary Green Park, 164 Lions Dr., Elk Grove Village, IL, 60007.
Bulgarica Cultural Center will also take part in both the Bulgaria Parade and the upcoming festival. The talented children from the Bulgarica children’s dance groups, as well as the Bulgarica Dance Ensemble, will showcase the beauty of Bulgarian folklore with choreographed performances on stage.
