"The best man I know!" is a 1973 Bulgarian feature film (drama) directed by Lyubomir Sharlandjiev from a screenplay by Lilyana Mihailova. The director of photography is Borislav Punchev. It is based on the short story "Open, I am" by Lilyana Mihailova.
Story by
The young literature teacher Nikolina Boneva takes a job at an evening technical school where her students are workers with different difficult fates and professions. Wanting to get to know them better, she assigns them to write an essay on "The best person I know!". As she becomes closer to them, the teacher becomes their confessor and support, but she also reconsiders her own moral foundations.
