The Dance Workshop is an event where we have the opportunity to see and learn interesting and authentic Bulgarian folk dances that have been bequeathed to us by our parents. Don't miss the opportunity to learn from Petar Iliev, a professional choreographer with a wealth of experience and infectious enthusiasm. Together with him we will learn dances from different folklore areas of Bulgaria, building on them with new additional steps and movements.
Who Is Petur Iliev?
Petar Iliev graduated from the Bulgarian National School of Music and Dance Art and holds a BA degree from the National Institute of Choreography in Bulgaria. He started his professional career as a principal dancer in the National Dance and Music Ensemble "Filip Kutev" - Sofia. Subsequently, he took on the role of Artistic Director at Westwind, an innovative dance company in the United States emphasizing ethnic dance diversity. Later, Peter Iliev contributed to the development of institutions such as the School of Pacific Northwest Ballet and the School of Ballet Chicago. In 2008 he founded the Iliev Dance Art Foundation, supporting many educational dance initiatives.
