Bulgarica at the 60th edition of Spring Folk Festival

This past weekend on May 24, 2025, the University of Chicago hosted the Jubilee 60th edition of Spring Folk Festival - an event that combined tradition and culture into an unforgettable experience. The organizers from Ensemble Balkan Gamesled by the inspiring Galia Miloucheva Kuo and Maria Kuo Ignjatov, once again created a magical atmosphere.

This year the festival was even more special - dedicated to the late John Kuo. His passion and dedication to Bulgarian and Eastern European dances left a deep mark in the history of the event. His presence was felt in every chorus, every smile and applause.

Among the participants, who had the honor to be part of this solemn moment, were the children from the dance groups of the Cultural Center "Bulgarica", as well as the Dance Group "Bulgarica". For them - young and old - this was not just a stage performance, but a celebration of the Bulgarian spirit and an opportunity to present the cultural wealth of Bulgaria alongside performers from different nationalities.

The stage was filled with colors, rhythms and emotions, and backstage - with new friendships, laughter and inspiration. The moments spent together will remain forever in our hearts.
